The victim reported to police that her boyfriend battered and strangled her earlier in the morning. Although the suspect denied the allegations, investigating officers obtained corroborating evidence indicating that the domestic violence occurred as the victim described.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect had been growing marijuana in his home. Officers obtained and executed a search warrant, which yielded a substantial seizure of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Patrol officers, with the help of the Street Enforcement Team, seized the marijuana plants, marijuana, cash and cultivating equipment.
The subsequent investigation revealed that the suspect had been cultivating marijuana in his home. Officers obtained and executed a search warrant on the home, which yielded a substantial seizure of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Patrol officers with the assistance of Street Enforcement Team Detectives, seized approximately 34 marijuana plants at different stages of growth, 10.8 pounds of useable marijuana, $1,744 cash and cultivating equipment.
Brad Ross, 31, was arrested on charges of domestic battery, strangulation, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sales and maintaining a residence for sales.
