At about 11:45 a.m., Nevada Highway Patrol troopers were dispatched to the accident on I-580 and found that the officer was riding a 2009 Harley Davidson north when the motorcycle drifted to the left and struck the concrete jersey wall. The motorcycle traveled back into the roadway as it was sliding down the travel lanes. The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Renown Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Shortly after this first accident there was a three-car accident on southbound I-580 directly across from this accident with no injuries reported.
